The freshened flagship smartphone of Sony Ericsson, the Xperia Arc S, is now available for pre-order on the Sony website for those in the U.S.
Nonetheless, the Xperia Arc S has already been available outside the U.S. with the Sony Ericsson Android powerhouse being released by Vodafone U.K. on September 30.
The Xperia Arc S being offered on the Sony site for pre-order in the U.S. is a contract-less unit.
Those who want to avail of the new phone with a subsidy shouldered by carriers will have to wait as there have been no details about carrier-released Xperia Arc S units released by the Japanese entertainment and electronics juggernaut yet.
According to the Xperia Arc S pre-order page on the Sony site, the new smartphone will be sold for $500.
Sony is saying that the Xperia Arc S will be available in the U.S. on or about December 1.
The Xperia Arc S runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 and features a 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, 512MB RAM, 4.2 inches screen with 480 x 854 pixels resolution, Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine, 8 MP camera, and up to 8GB internal memory (with microSD slot capable of supporting 32GB cards).
