WhatsApp has announced that users can now pin up to three messages in a chat, which will enable them to access them later without stress. Previously, users could only pin one message with a contact or a group.

The update was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp head Will Cathcart on their respective WhatsApp channels.

WhatsApp users can pin all types of messages, including text, images, and polls. The advantage of this update is that users can easily and quickly get information, including friend’s contacts, without going through the stress of using the search feature.

To pin a message, all you have to do is long-press on it and select “Pin” from the venue. You will have the option of selecting the duration for each pinned message, including 24 hours, 7 days (the default choice), and 30 days to stay pinned.

For an address, however, you may have to re-pin it after 30 days, as there is no option to keep a message like that forever.

In a related story, WhatsApp wants to make it easier to call your regular contacts. The chat app is reportedly working on a new favorite contact feature that is set for a future release.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is already working on a feature that will provide users with more convenient call placement by adding contact shortcuts to the calls tab.

This will simplify the process of initiating a call to those contacts you call regularly. WhatsApp is also working on the ability to give you the option to choose your favorite contacts in the Android app.

WhatsApp is also working on a new transcription element for voice notes, according to WABetaInfo. The new feature, which brings the version of the app to, will be available at a future date.

The transcribe element will allow users to transcribe voice notes. It is a welcome feature for people who prefer reading text to taking voice notes.

The transcribe feature is not new to iOS users, as they have been using it for quite a while now. This report will, however, make Android users happy, as they can now look forward to being on level terms with iOS users as soon as the transcribe feature is launched.

To transcribe a voice note, you will be required to download 150MB of new app data to provide end-to-end encrypted transcriptions, according to WABetaInfo.
