If you are a YouTube user, then you specifically know the issues of watching videos on YouTube via the browser. The page load, the flash player refresh and all the other numerous issues contributed to me wanting a standalone application to do that. I hope you too are in that group.
Well, our prayers have been partly answered. DeskTube Lite is the new software which will now enable us to watch YouTube videos outside of a browser. This new software is currently free and offers many features unlike the vanilla YouTube viewer before it.
There are still some issues with this new software like, its inability to pull in different quality videos – Only the highest resolution is available for viewing. But all in all, for YouTube fanatics, this is a boon. It incorporates a search system, which is faster than searching on the YouTube site.
The DeskTube Lite version cannot upload any content, it can just view the content, so YouTube channel owners must still use the website for that purpose.
