Just yesterday, the stocks of Twitter were on the decline (yet again), this time plummeting by 1.46% to $36.46. The major reason for the poor performance of Twitter since the beginning of 2015 is the increasing number of investment professionals who are now calling it quits on the microblogging platform.
Twitter is not an easy social networking platform to use, let alone get a hang of. That became evident in the recent shareholder meeting where Chris Sacca blazed the Twitter execs apart. Following his plea to make Twitter more user-friendly, the platform has recently announced that replies will now be in conversation groups for easy navigation.
This is a much-needed feature as the tangled conversations only made it more difficult for someone who is already having a hard time understanding how to use the platform. As of now, replies to tweets are going to be organized in conversations instead of being organized chronologically.
Akarshan Kumar, the Product Manager at Twitter, claims that this is a much-needed feature and will bring back some love for Twitter. He says:
“So, we’re grouping conversations together and highlighting some of the most interesting exchanges surrounding a given Tweet right below that Tweet. To surface some of the most interesting conversations, we’ll take factors into account like whether the original account has replied.”
The new feature is slated to roll out today while the mobile app will have to wait until later this week before an update is announced. The move will certainly make Twitter easier to use and more accessible as well. Currently, there are only 302 million active monthly users on Twitter, a similar figure shared by the Facebook-owned Instagram!
