TikTok is bringing its app to more devices and TV screens.

TikTok TV App on Samsung and LG TVs
The TikTok TV app was first introduced to Amazon’s Fire TV platform in North America. The said app isn’t the same TikTok Fire TV app with limited viewing to a selection of videos. The newly launched app functions like its mobile app.
That is, you can create an account or sign in to start exploring the pages as you would normally do on your smartphone.
Today, the said TikTok app becomes available on Samsung and LG smart TVs. Android TV devices, including Chromecast with Google TV, will also have the TikTok app.
The popular mobile app is designed to give entertainment. The big-screen software is designed for the TV home-viewing experience. Thus, it will be easier for you to watch content feeds on the big screen.
“We’re taking TikTok to the big screen in the living room, offering a new way to experience the joy and creativity of TikTok together at home. With our mobile app, we bring people little bursts of joy, and the big screen experience allows families and friends to easily enjoy TikTok together.” – TikTok
The TikTok TV app will let you watch the most liked and viewed videos across a range of categories, from food to comedy to gaming. All TikTok videos have a maximum length of three minutes.
1 Billion Active Monthly Users
In September, TikTok reported having 1 billion monthly active users. TikTok is now the home of diverse families, small businesses, and creators. The app has become a popular app because of the creators’ creativity and authenticity.
Furthermore, TikTok users are spending more time every month watching content on the said platform than YouTube users. TikTok users watch more than 24 hours of content each compared to 22 hours on YouTube.
Even though the figures only showed Android users and they don’t represent the whole mobile users, they show how extensive TikTok is in a few short years. In 2020, it faced continued threats that it would be prohibited in the US. However, the Biden Administration revoked the former administration’s executive orders.
YouTube is still ahead of its game in overall time spent. Thanks to its two billion users.
Why TikTok is Successful?
Tiktok has become successful because it’s full of short videos that are mostly authentic. It’s no wonder many platforms are mimicking its format. YouTube, for one, introduced YouTube Shorts that can be likened to TikTok.
In 2018, musical.ly and TikTok joined together resulting in its meteoric rise. The merger resulted in the rise of TikTok user numbers. But that’s not all. ByteDance, which owns TikTok, carried out a smart marketing campaign. It advertised TikTok on every platform where young people. It means that it was advertised on Snapchat and YouTube, its competitors.
The new TikTok has no musical emphasis. It features various cringe videos featuring individuals doing cringeworthy activities. Its members upload videos that contain diverse content.
With the success of TikTok, it’s no wonder Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other competitors are introducing features that would imitate TikTok.
