Have you seen the Jobs movie portrayed by Ashton Kutcher? Well, it was not well-received. And Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak was not impressed by the story.
But the latest movie about the late Steve Jobs, which is directed by Danny Boyle, made Woz happy. In an interview with Deadline Hollywood, Woz said that he has seen a rough cut. While he was watching it, he felt like he was actually watching the real Steve Jobs.
The script of this latest movie of Apple’s founder is 200 pages long.
Wozniak was not a fan of the “Jobs” movie. It was not because of Ashton Kutcher’s dull acting but Woz thought that the movie did not get it right. There were a lot of things that were inaccurate. The portrayal of Jobs was, for him, too glowing.
For the new movie, the “glowing” portrayal of Apple’s founder will not be a problem. One of the things that the other Jobs biopic missed was his unforgivable abandonment of his daughter. But this latest movie of Jobs will include this significant part of Steve’s life, which is considered as one of the most essential components of the movie.
The element of his daughter can be a painful thing to watch. Lisa was abandoned by one of the wealthiest men in the US. She lived with her mother in squalid surroundings. She got no love and money from him. However, as his daughter grew older, Steve realized his mistakes and gave Lisa the kind of love and support that she needed. This part of the story gave the film with an emotional kicker.
This movie may seem like one of fall’s must-see attractions. Although the film is more than two hours, Michael Fassbender will not bore you through its standout acting, unlike Ashton’s.
Apart from the standout acting of the lead actors, the movie has several clever elements and one of them is how it has been recorded. There are three product presentations. You can see three themes from 1984, 1988 and 1998. Boyle used different film technologies of the era. For the 1984 plot, he utilized that grainy 16mm camera. In the 1988 scenes, he used the 35mm and in 1998 sequences, he made use of high-defined cameras.
This attention to detail was not present in the old film about Jobs. The distinction from one period to another will be greatly appreciated by the majority of the viewers. And if Steve Jobs were still alive, he might have appreciated it.
The timeline of the film is focused on the three product launches of Apple. But you will only see little scenes about Jobs presenting on stage.
This Steve Jobs movie has received overwhelming positive reviews. Those who have seen and watched the trailer have compared it to The Social Network movie, which is another Sorkin’s successful story.
But the film will not be seen until October 9. It may not also be acknowledged by the Academy Awards next year but it may be in 2017. The reviews about this film are mostly positive.
Are you going to watch this new Steve Jobs movie? Why or why not?
