Use Every Platform

You’re trying to be present everywhere. This is realistic only if you hire someone to focus your SMM effort for every social media channel.

Being present on every platform 100% will usually lead to failure.

Experts suggest starting with a channel that most of your audience is found. You can start with Facebook.

Add a second one on your list once the first channel is thriving.

You may have heard most people saying that your business has to be on this and that because those channels are popular now.

But this is a mistake.

Instead of listening to these people, why not try to listen to your real audience by going to them.

Make Sales Pitch Not Relationship

Social media marketing is about building relationship and it’s not just about broadcasting sales pitches.

Just put yourself in your audiences’ shoes.

Do you want to see your newsfeed to be about sales pitch? Of course not.

Remember the time when you unlike those Facebook pages because of what they’re posting? Don’t be like them.

Always remember that social media is not about you. Rather, it’s about your audience.

Keep in mind that customers will only buy from those they have a relationship with and not those who always make sales pitch sales pitch.

Post a Lot

When you Google and inquire about the number of times recommended to catch your audience’s attention, you’ll find different opinion.

However, it all boils down to one main goal – don’t overpost.

One to two times a day is fine. If people see too many updates in their newsfeed from the same business, they’re going to find the unfollow button.

Even if you’re posting awesome content each time, they’re going to unfollow you if you post every hour.

Posting a lot of updates in a short span will only result in people unfollowing or unliking you.

Do It By Yourself

Doing the social media marketing all yourself and running your business is possible. It can be done.

But for most business owners, it’s just best to pass this responsibility to someone else. Yes, that means you have to hire someone to handle your company’s SMM.

Your goal is to do what you do best.

If you’re a photographer, for instance, you should be taking pictures somewhere but not figure out what the best photo that would look best on your Instagram updates.

If you’re taking on too much, you’ll be spreading yourself and your business too thin.

It’s just best to hire someone to handle updates for your social media marketing. It may be an additional cost but it’s worth the investment.
