The Microsoft Surface TV ad dubbed The Surface Movement has been declared the most effective tablet ad for this year, a new survey reveals.

According to Ace Metrix, the Microsoft Surface ad managed to score a 674 in the research company’s Ace Score.

The new Microsoft Surface ad scored “particularly high in the ‘change’, ‘desire’ and ‘attention’ areas of the Ace Score,” Neowin reports.

The publication also quotes the research firm’s CEO as saying that the new ad has basically reversed the damage caused by the Mac vs PC campaign Apple ran previously.

“iPhoria is wearing off in the tablet market, and the introduction of the Surface has given Microsoft quite a few ‘cool’ points among consumers. The new Surface ads have flipped the ‘Mac vs. PC’ campaign on its head introducing intense aspiration among consumers, as evidenced by very high ‘change,’ ‘desire,’ and ‘attention’ Ace scores,” Ace Metrix CEO Peter Daboll says, reports Neowin.

For those who may be doubting the methodology used by the research firm to judge the effectiveness of the Microsoft Surface ad, it says it uses a huge 500-member panel for its surveys, of which they claim to have done 2.6 million of last year.
