In 2012, 73 percent of recruiters filled a position using social media employing methods such as social recruiting.
According to the infographic, 93 percent of social recruiting efforts were through LinkedIn.
Other social networks figured high in this category including Twitter with 54 percent and Facebook with 66 percent.
The talent pool on LinkedIn is also very large. Recently, the social network revealed it has over 200 million people using its services in over 200 countries worldwide.
This talent pool is a source of potential employees so it is no wonder social recruiting is ramping up.
Furthermore, social networks offer a fast way to get word out about job openings. With sites like LinkedIn that offers profiles tailored to highlight qualifications, it is not surprising that recruiters are using social media to source candidates.
Nonetheless, the infographic also reveals that just over half of LinkedIn users have complete profiles. Furthermore, most people spend 0-2 hours per week on LinkedIn.
