Instagram users can now share SoundCloud tracks to Stories

Instagram is getting all the support it needs to be your number one ephemeral picture sharing app. The Facebook subsidiary is getting SoundCloud integration that will allow you share tracks to your stories.

Instagram, which is already getting ahead of Snapchat in terms of usage by teens according to latest stats, will no doubt continue to dominate in years to come. Its Stories feature is already attracting millions of daily use, and the new SoundCloud integration will further boost the feature [Stories].

SoundCloud integration into Instagram Stories will let fans and artists to promote their music through the feature. The caveat here is that users will not be able to actually share their music via Instagram as the tracks can only be shared as links that appear within Stories.

Starting today you can share your music discoveries from SoundCloud directly to your Instagram Stories. Scanning the New & Hot charts to find your next favorite song or artist is hard work – work that now delivers an immediate reward, because easily shared, means easily heard,” the music service wrote in a blog post.

SoundCloud integration also makes it possible for your fans and followers to listen to your song and offer their feedback. So, what you get in the end is actually more than just a big coverage, you also get to hear people comment on your song.

Here is a low down on how the new SoundCloud integration in Instagram Stories works:

  • In the latest version of the SoundCloud app, find a track you want to share.
  • Tap the share icon at the bottom of your screen.
  • Tap the Instagram icon or select “Share to Instagram Stories” (depending on what phone you’re using).
  • Share the link with all your followers directly to your Instagram Story.

Instagram is working on a new, faster, and better way to help you fast forward through post. ‘Tapping,’ instead of scrolling through post will allow you tap through post the same way you tap through stories. A Twitter user Suprateek Bose posted the screenshot of the new feature being tested by Instagram on his Twitter page.

The test, which has also now been confirmed to TechCrunch by Instagram, could actually change the way you read posts on the Facebook-owned picture sharing app. A spokesperson of the company told TechCrunch that: “We’re always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and bring you closer to the people and things you love.” That said, the spokesperson was unable to confirm if same feature is being extended to the main feed.

It is yet another feature being copied from Snapchat by Instagram. Snapchat already has that feature enabled for its users. Tap to advance gets rid of the need for scrolling through your posts, which can be stressful sometimes.
