HopperHQ has published the list of top celebrity influencers on Instagram—and names of popular sports [soccer] personalities made the cut. Top on the list is Cristiano Ronaldo who recently switched club from Real Madrid in Spain to Juventus in Italy.
The 33-year old Portuguese international who featured in the last FIFA World Cup in Russia topped the list, earning a staggering $750,000 per post made by brands on his Instagram page. With 133 million followers on Instagram, that did not come as a surprise considering his popularity in one of sports’ most popular games.
Ronaldo’s top of the spot ranking did not come as a surprise actually, but same cannot be said for Neymar da Silva Santos Junior popularly known as Neymar—the Brazilian who plays for PSG of France edged out Barcelona’s Messi to take the second spot. Neymar with 101 million followers on the picture-sharing app, came second earning $600,000 per post on his official Instagram page.
Lionel Messi, one of soccer’s most enigmatic figure came third on the list of sports celebrity influencers earning $500,000 per post. The Argentine skipper has close to 96 million followers on the platform.
Former England forward and ex Real Madrid Galatico David Beckham takes the 4th position on the list with $300,000 per post and with close to 48 million followers.
Beckham is followed by fellow Briton and current Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale who once held the record as the most expensive footballer on planet earth. The Welsh man brings up the rear in the list of top five sports celebrities influencers on Instagram as compiled by HopperHQ. Bale earns $185,000 per post with close to 35 million followers on the Facebook-owned ephemeral photo-sharing app.
Indian international cricketer Virat Kohli made the list at number 9 with 22.5 million followers, earning $120,000 per post on his Instagram page. Floyd Mayweather, the flamboyant American boxing champion brings up the rear; occupying the 11th position. The multimillionaire sportsman earns $107,000 with 20.4 million followers.
In the global ranking, 33-year old Ronaldo takes the third position, edging Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé into the third and fourth positions respectively.
I guess that by now you must be wondering who has the first position in the bag? Well, your guess is as good as mine as the position is currently being occupied by model Kylie Jenner. Jenner occupies top spot with $1million per post while Selena Gomez takes the second spot with $800,000 per post.
