HTC’s event scheduled for October is getting closer and closer and the rumors about the devices set to be unveiled also keep coming. IF few days ago, the first leaks with their waterproof camera, the RECAmera, were posted online, the Taiwanese manufacturer gets even more attention.
The Double Exposure event will also introduce a new smartphone which isn’t actually that new. HTC M8 Eye. Basically a regular One M8, the new smartphone will finally make the move away from UltraPixels to a 13 MP camera. We’ve already seen this at the HTC One E8 and now it’s time for the flagship to do the same. It seems that larger pixels weren’t that well received by users, even though the pictures taken with cameras using this feature weren’t bad at all. But after all, if there’s room for improvement, why not change it?
Of course, the Duo camera technology will be kept and users will be able to take advantage of all the features seen on the first version of the flagship, as the HTC M8 Eye will be running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, customized with Sense 6 user interface.
No details about an availability date for the moment, but we should expect the updated smartphone to be available at least before holidays. As for the price, it shouldn’t be far from what carriers are charging for the UltraPixel One M8, even though technically, the M8 Eye is better.
