Google Gboard is testing ‘Grammar Check’

Grammer is an integral part of writing a proper article—it defines you as a writer. It is basically impossible to communicate right if you are mixing things up grammar-wise; and that is why it is probably wise to have a grammar checker tool. To help you out with your writing, Gboard is testing a Grammar Check feature.

The exact date and time Google began testing the feature is not known, but it is now obvious from a screenshot posted by Jane Manchun Wong that one is being tested. The screenshot posted on Jane’s Twitter shows the new Grammar Check feature right below the Spell Check feature.

Some Gboard users have already started seeing the new feature, which could even attract more people to start using the app. These days, most people do not use the default keyboard on the mobile phone—and that has made Gboard and other keyboard apps to be very popular.

It is not known at this time when the feature will be widely available to all users; but I am sure a lot of people will be excited to have a grammar checker as part of the features on a keyboard app.

With more than 1 billion installs on the Play Store, Gboard is the keyboard app with the most users on Android and probably other OS. Among several other features, the app has the following key features:

Multilingual Typing: Gboard has a built-in multilingual feature that autocorrects and suggests from any of your enabled languages.

Emoji Search: This is a feature that makes it easy to search for any Emoji of your choice.

Google Translate: This feature translates as you type with the keyboard app.

Voice Typing: As stated, this feature enables you to use your voice instead of typing.

Glide Typing: Type faster by sliding your finger from letter to letter.

In 2019, Google Gboard was updated with the ability to suggest relevant emoji and stickers when typing on your device. This feature is powered by Google’s popular artificial intelligence. With this functionality, Gboard will suggest different emojis and stickers that it feels will match that important occasion—birthday, wedding anniversary and many more. As you already know, Gboard boasts of a rich reservoir of stickers and emojis in its library, which makes it the perfect app to help you send the right pictures when words are barely enough.

Even with a large collection of stickers and emojis available in the Gboard store, it could sometimes be very difficult to come up with the right one to express yourself in a very important conversation. So, it makes a lot of sense to have AI integrated into the app to simplify the entire process of getting the right sticker or emoji.
