Widening its reach and congregating even more data for its search results, Bing has risen usage and increased its market share from 7.2 per cent to 30 per cent in the United States since July 2009. This great increase in market share has marginally impacted Yahoo’s search engine market share seriously.

Bing’s product director Stefan Weitz, said that Bing will soon offer more and more data resources for the search results including various social media and networks, booking services and even real life businesses.

This attempt is Bing’s attempt to identify the user’s intent and serve results accordingly and not to wait too much on Google’s page rank and backlinks strategy, which has huge flaws in it. According to Stefan Weitz, Bing wants to stay away from today’s pidgin language noun and Boolean operator based search results and bring in more social aspects.

Bing believes that search results must be genuine and not manipulatable like Google’s search results said a source which requested to remain anonymous. It has integrated Facebook’s Instant Personalization with its US user’s providing real time search results variations. Early this year, Google had filed a copyright complaint against Bing on allegations of copying its search results and that marked the open war for market share between the two rivaling search engines.
