With the release of Farmville 2, Zynga aims to gain back the popularity that the prelude gave the company.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the new Farmville has much better graphics, and will definitely get people absorbed in the game with its great gameplay.
According to Zynga’s vice president for games, Tim Le Toumeau, Farmville 2 aims to get players to go back to their old farm and reinstate it.

“Farmville 2 is not so much a sequel as it is a re-imagining of the digital farming experience. We really wanted to create an experience that could bring back players who have stopped playing Farmville.”
Zynga needs to step up its game because many investors are now dissatisfied with the reduction of its stock price to greater than 70 percent from December, to just less than 3 dollars per share.
The first Farmville gained so much popularity just 3 years after it was released, with 18.2 million players per month on average. However, there was a time when it had 83 million players per month. On the other hand, Zynga is still relatively successful with over 300 million active players per month.
Among the improvements from the previous Farmville game include more realistic farms, thanks to the use of Flash 11 technology, more interrelated tasks, and several tasks made easier.
Nevertheless, it may be hard for dedicated Farmville players to shift to the new version without keeping what they have worked hard for, even spending real money to buy virtual Farmville pieces.
