Yahoo’s Declining Business Model

After the planned shutdown of search sites such as Alta Vista and AllTheWeb, Yahoo will have completely distanced itself from search.  Since August’s decision to outsource its search capabilities to Bing, it is reported that Yahoo has little, if any, of its revenue-producing business model left.
The objective of outsourcing Yahoo’s search capabilities to Bing was to decrease Google’s market share.  Even though there was a small market decline for Google, totaling about 3.4% from last …

In what may have been no coincidence, Yahoo’s image search began to display pornographic images on Tuesday night, the same day that Yahoo laid off over 600 employees.
The pornographic images seemed to appear no matter what someone searched on Yahoo. They would not appear immediately, but if a user clicked on a thumbnail image at the top of the search results, what has been described as a XXX photo would appear. However, it appears that Yahoo is not interested in purchasing them, and AOL did not have the ability to invest enough to purchase the company.
Both AOL and Yahoo have found …
