Sprint through its Virgin Mobile USA arm will be the second US carrier to offer a prepaid iPhone 4S in the US.
According to the company, it will begin offering prepaid iPhone 4S and prepaid iPhone 4 units starting June 29.
The move from Sprint for its Virgin Mobile brand follows the announcement from Leap Wireless that it will begin selling prepaid iPhone 4S and prepaid iPhone 4 smartphones beginning on June 22 through its Cricket Wireless brand.
Currently, Virgin Mobile USA has a dedicated page for people who may want to sign up for email updates about the Virgin Mobile prepaid iPhone 4S and prepaid iPhone 4.
This offer is useful for subscribers who do not want to be tied with a carrier for the typical contract which lasts two years.
They will have to pay a larger sum upfront, however, as the prepaid iPhone 4S with 16GB of memory will cost $649 and the prepaid iPhone 4 with 8GB will set them back $549.
