Virgin Mobile has started selling the HTC One V, the same day the carrier also offered prepaid iPhone units in its stores.
According to Virgin Mobile, the HTC One is now available for $199.99 and that’s without a contract. For $200, you get a decent smartphone with a 3.7-inch Super LCD 2 screen, a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM.
The HTC One V runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich mobile operating system coated with the latest HTC Sense 4 user interface. It also has a 5MP rear camera but no front camera to boot.
“This terrific handset for under $200, combined with our no-contract Beyond Talk unlimited data and messaging plans starting at $35 per month, is an ideal alternative to postpaid offers and to other smartphones on the market,” said Jeff Auman, vice president, Virgin Mobile USA.
“’A Higher Calling’ demands that we continue to expand our already stellar smartphone lineup, and we’re delighted to add this device from the HTC One series,” he added.
The HTC One V on Virgin Mobile is equipped with Beats Audio and also comes with a free 25GB account on Dropbox.
