Viber has released the latest version of its mobile app for Android and iPhone devices.
Version 2.2 offers several new features as requested by most users of the platform, which include better HD call quality, group messaging and a much-improved user interface.
The new group messaging feature displays each member of the group’s thumbnail under the message preview, with the most recent sender having the largest profile picture on the left side.
Group message backdrops are now customizable to replace the standard white setting. Landscape view is now available as well.
Another significant addition is smart notifications, a feature that allows you to stop Viber from popping up an onslaught of alerts.
A new system implementation will speed up work in starting a group message, and users now have the ability to share names and images.
Viber recently brought out its apps for BlackBerry and Windows Phone devices, albeit in beta development. Group messaging will arrive in an update to Viber for BlackBerry smartphones.
Viber for Android will gain an additional nine languages: Arabic, Chinese (simplified and traditional), French, German, Hebrew, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
To start right away with free calls on Viber, visit their official website and follow the right link for your device to install the app.
