A Samsung tablet currently in the pipeline will rival the reported display resolution of the upcoming iPad 3, a new rumor suggests.
The buzz comes from a report from BGR citing an unnamed “trusted source” as the basis of the report.
According to BGR, the next-generation Samsung tablet will have an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels.
The new display for the upcoming Samsung tablet has an aspect ratio of 16:10, BGR says.
Given the screen’s size and the reported resolution of the display, the screen will have a pixel density of 260 pixels-per-inch (ppi).
This works out to a pixel density of about 264 ppi for the iPad 3.
Another detail the report reveals is that the new Samsung tablet will not be much larger than the current flagship Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 as “the slate will have a thinner bezel,” BGR says.
Additionally, the upcoming Samsung tablet will be powered by a dual-core 2GHz Exynos 5250 CPU which is “very similar” to the Apple A6 CPU, BGR reports.
