Canadians who want to get the Samsung Galaxy S III will have to wait longer as the company has just announced that the launch of the new flagship superphone will be moved back because of “unprecedented demand”.
The news was broken by Samsung Canada’s Twitter page which sent out a tweet about the delay saying that the launch will be June 27 instead of the earlier-announced June 20.
June 20 is the same day carriers in the U.S. are expected to release the Galaxy S III. It may be that allocations for Canada are being rerouted to Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile in the U.S.
In the tweet, Samsung Canada said:
“Due to unprecedented demand, our launch of GALAXY S III will happen June 27th, rather than June 20th. Thanks for your understanding.”

Samsung has revealed in May that they have gotten over 9 million preorders of the Galaxy S III two weeks from when the flagship phone was announced.
