Nokia announced on its quarterly fiscal report that its smartphone sales fell 39 percent to 10.2 million in the second quarter this year. However, if we include its feature phones into the count, the drop is actually smaller at 5 percent to 83.2 million.
According to research firm Gartner, the Finnish tech giant once dominated as the world’s top phone maker for over 10 years, but Samsung has overtaken it in the first quarter of this year.
Gartner made a year-on-year (YoY) comparison of each top phone maker sales and their market shares during the first quarter of 2012 compared to last year.
