Popular encrypted chat app, Telegram has gone the way of Snapchat by adding disappearing chat feature. The company announced the new update on Sunday—and users can now enjoy similar feature that made Snapchat one of the most popular apps.

Telegram’s disappearing message feature will support disappearing videos and photos in private chat. You can use the feature by setting a timer for your media and the message will disappear. One great thing about the function is that you will know as soon as anyone takes a screenshot of the message. This, however, is not unique to Telegram as other apps such as Snapchat and iMessage support similar function. So, that about takes care the issue of having your pictures leaked to the public.

“If you set a timer, the countdown starts the moment your recipient opens the photo or video you sent. After the time runs out, the photo/video will disappear forever, just like in Secret Chats.

“If the recipient tries to make a screenshot of your disappearing media, you’ll get a notification immediately,” Telegram said.

What’s more? Everyone can now add a bio to their profile—another great feature added to the encrypted chat app on Sunday. You can type the words by yourself in setting, the company has announced. Bios, according to Telegram, will be very useful every time you “stumble upon new users in large groups.” The new feature will allow you to learn more about new people you come across while using the chat app.

Finally, stickers on Instagram are now easier to use as you can now enlarge the scrolling area. This gives you more ways to express your emotions and say things words are not enough to express. The beauty of stickers is when they are large—and Telegram has put the ball in your court.

A few weeks back, Telegram launched a few exciting features, including short video messages, and bot payment; the chat app now offers more reasons to look towards its direction.

It launched a dedicated video hosting platform that provides you with opportunities to share content with your followers at no cost. Called Telescope, the new platform will give users opportunity to follow your feed—and without registration.

Every video on Telescope will come with public URL that will enable you to share your clips with friends and loved ones.

To send a video message, simply go to any chat on Telegram and tap the mic icon to switch to camera mode. Tap and hold the camera icon and record a video message, then release the recording button to dispatch your message once you are done.

Your friends don’t have to install Telegram on their phones to be able to enjoy your public video messages. They can share your message via popular social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. It is one good way of generating more leads and views for your blog. In all, it is a good move—and one capable of boosting the popularity of Telegram.
