Smartphones based on Google Android operating system may soon become truly powerful gaming platforms. However, we are not talking about just gaming phone Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, but about all the phones and tablets on Tegra chip from NVIDIA.
Portal Androidandme reports that using a special application Tegra Zone, such devices will support the platform, Sony PlayStation Suite. This will allow the porting of games previously released for the PlayStation 2 console to smart phones and tablets. It is expected that the application Tegra Zone will be available in the second half of this year, along with games from the first PlayStation – Wild Arms, Cool Boarders 2, Syphon Filter, and others. However, there is no information yet about the timing of release of Android games for PlayStation 2.
If the information by Androidandme is confirmed officially, then the owners of new models of smart phones and tablets will have whole bunch of great games at their disposal, and some of them may turn out to be hits such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, God of War 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, and many others. Sony has so far refrained from commenting on this issue.
