Sony has announced its low-cost Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) handset, the Xperia Tipo.
The Japanese smartphone maker is not so keen on drawing in tech savvy customers with the Xperia Tipo, which only comes with a mediocre 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chip – expect Android ICS to struggle once in a while. Sony Ericsson To Release Xperia Android 4.0 Update Next Year

Sony Ericsson has confirmed that Xperia phone owners who have waited eagerly for news on an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their devices will receive one early next year.
An employee of the Sony and Ericsson join venture has tweeted enthusiastically that Ice Cream Sandwich updates are likely to hit their respective Xperia devices on the first week of January 2012.
