Facebook Flirting Boosts UK Divorce Rate

A divorce website based in the U.K. conducted a survey of 5,000 people and found that one third of participants reported 3 reasons for citing social networking Facebook as a factor in their divorce petitions, made in 2011.
 
Reasons for citing Facebook as a factor in their divorce petition include a spouse sending inappropriate flirty messages to the opposite sex, posting negative comments about their spouse, and disclosing private information about their spouse.

Facebook walls filled with profanity: Reppler

Reppler, the Facebook application which helps “you keep your Facebook image clean and safe”, reviewed the posts on 30,000 Facebook walls over the last few months and found that 47 percent of all Facebook members have naughty words on them.

Facebook access tokens exposed users

Computer security firm Symantec reported this week that Facebook, by granting ‘access tokens’ via its Facebook apps, has exposed the private data of millions of Facebook members to third parties over the last four years.  It is not clear how many Facebook members may have had their privacy invaded because many or most third parties may not have been aware of the flaw.
