Verizon Wireless on Friday has suspended early sales of its widely-anticipated Apple iPhone after making record sales on Thursday.
According to the US carrier, the suspension will be effective until 3 a.m. Wednesday next week after it stopped taking orders 8:10 p.m. Thursday.
Reports say that Verizon is yet to reveal how many orders for the smartphone were placed during the brief two-hour period early Thursday when it began early sales.

Based on statistics from the Apple Inc. conference call on Tuesday, the company has again topped the mobile OS category with its iOS as data show that it has sold 366 thousand iOS devices daily during the fiscal first year.
According to a quick calculation done by 9to5Mac, data from the earnings report show that 366,666 iOS devices was sold by Apple daily. The figure includes iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches.
