According to reports, Google currently is gearing up to rival Apple for a slice of the tablet market by launching a Nexus-branded slate.

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt may have inadvertently announced company plans to release a new tablet in the span of six months.
According to The Next Web (TNW), Schmidt said in an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera the possibility of Google releasing a Nexus tablet in half a year’s time.
