Steve Jobs wanted his own reimagining of the car, a senior Apple executive, who refers to the vehicle as the iCar, has revealed.
According to Apple Board of Directors member Mickey Drexler, Steve Jobs wanted to design an iCar.
Drexler revealed the Apple cofounder’s wish at a recently-held Innovation Uncensored conference organized by Fast Company.
Speaking at the said conference in an interview portion, the J. Crew CEO said: “Look at the car industry; it’s a tragedy in America. Who is designing the cars? Steve’s dream before he died was to design an iCar.”
Furthermore, he joked that had the iCar become reality, “it would’ve been probably 50% of the market.”
Nonetheless, Drexler noted that Steve Jobs “never did design” the iCar before his passing away.
Meanwhile, Drexler also made the impression that Apple is really working on an iTV. He said after his iCar comments: “You know, Apple has 10 products. The living room they’re dealing with at some point in the near future.”
