Flagship Smartphone Sony Xperia S now has received the support for online gaming store PlayStation Store. The service is available to owners of the gadget from the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Australia, reports Pocket Lint. The app has appeared on the gadget after a week of its release in the UK
A total of 16 titles are available in the store. Among them – Twisted Metal, Rayman, WipEout, Jet Rider, Everybody’s Golf 2 and others, says Pocket-lint. In the UK, each game has been priced at 3.99 pounds.
Xperia S, the 1 GHz smartphone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a 4.3-inch display and a 12-megapixel camera, is the first one from Sony stable since it acquired Ericsson’s equity, went on sale March 6 in the UK. It had a placeholder for PS Store. Now, Sony has done its cosmetics finish. Users can download the application of store, and another application PS Pocket, which has 12 classic games.
In order to activate PS Store app, users need to go to Android menu and open Settings > Applications. There you must select “Let’s start PS store”. You can then easily download the two applications – Sony will automatically do the rest. The users will also need to register and create an account in the Sony Entertainment Network, if they don’t have a PSN-account.
Meanwhile, Sony has reported that it has sold more than 1.4 million units of PS Vita. Two weeks ago the figure stood at 1.2 million.
Sony corp. also maintains that this year it is planning to extend the PlayStation certification to its entire line of Android smartphones.
