Sony has introduced a new dark silver theme to its Xperia S flagship smartphone.
Announced in a post on the Japanese smartphone maker’s blog, the dark silver Xperia S variant add another alternative to the current black and white units. However, it does not offer any new features and wears the same plastic frame as its siblings.
“As if the screen wasn’t eye-catching enough, Xperia S is about to arrive in Dark Silver – so keep your eyes peeled,” said Sony without getting into details of a probable release date.
The dark silver Xperia S handset will arrive with the same 1.5 GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch 720p HD touchscreen, Sony Bravia technology and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the latter of which is set to receive an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.
Other notable hardware features include 32 GB built-in storage, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with an Exmor R sensor and HD video, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity and a 1750 mAH battery.
