The Sony Tablet P ICS Update (Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich) will be released by Sony on Thursday, the Japanese tech veteran has revealed.
The move from Sony comes after the ICS update for the Sony Tablet S was released last month bringing with it new features to the higher-end Tablet S like panoramic camera view, enhanced lock screen, a revamped home screen with new icons, an better Android internet browser, Face Unlock and the Chrome browser for Android.
The Sony Tablet P ICS update was supposed to be released at the same time as the Sony Tablet S ICS update was released.
With the Sony Tablet P ICS update, users will be getting “Small Apps”, a feature which lets people open small apps like the calculator and remote while using other apps like the web browser.
The ICS update for the clamshell Sony Tablet P will also bring an improved lock screen with faster access to the camera app which will then be able to take panoramic images.
The Sony Tablet P ICS update was announced by Sony on its website (Japanese).
