The Internet Dental Alliance, Inc. or IDA has recently taken up social media marketing by using Facebook in reaching out to new patients.

The IDA is a firm that offers customized resources and management advice to dental practices. These include online marketing services like “find-a-dentist” sites, website design, and search engine optimization (SEO). Notably, it is the largest provider of dental websites and directories in North America.
Social Media: A Dentist’s Marketing Tool
A lot of dentists still use traditional methods in reaching out to new clients – asking patients for referrals, for instance. However, in addition to these many are also setting up a Facebook page and a website. In fact, in their New Patient Marketing Machine packages, the IDA includes Facebook tabs and pages.
Facebook: A Marketing Platform
Establishing a presence on Facebook is not the least surprising, since it is deemed as the biggest social networking site on the Internet. It helps dentists maintain their current clients, as well as make themselves accessible to new ones. What’s more, the site continues to develop new ways of interaction, making it an effective marketing platform.
Connecting Facebook with Dental Websites
According to Jim Du Molin, the founder of IDA and a dental management consultant, they have integrated Facebook tabs with dental marketing websites, which are also dubbed as “New Patient Portals.” This makes online marketing easier for most dentists, who are often busy with their patients to study new marketing tools. The Facebook tabs can be used to feature a dentist’s location, credential, and other relevant information.
