Snapchat is testing a new Netflix-like home page for shows—and that is per Mashable. The new “Shows” page according to Mashable’s Karissa Bell, looks much cleaner than the rest of Discover and is similar to what is currently available on streaming sites.
At the top, you will find promoted show, then followed by a queue of recently watched shows and shows previously subscribed to by you. Below it, you will find a grid of dozens of other series available on the platform.
A Snapchat spokesperson has already confirmed the “testing,” to Mashable, but did not provide further information on when the feature will be available. It remains what it is—a small test, with no further information as to when and whether it will be available to more people in the very near future.
One very noticeable thing about the new feature is that it brings a sort of organization to all of Snapchat’s series—everything is now in one place. What that means is that you now have a destination if you feel like binge-watching. In case you haven’t noticed it yet, Snapchat is now looking every inch more like Netflix.
Earlier in July, Snapchat added a new Bitmoji tennis game to get all tennis lovers excited. The Bitmoji tennis game is Snapchat’s way of celebrating this year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament, which attracts the very best in the tennis world.
Just last year, Snapchat added a 3D Bitmoji Lens that allows you to “take on” American tennis superstar Serena Williams at Wimbledon. The new Bitmoji tennis game is a real-time multiplayer game that lets you challenge your friends within the chat feature of the app.
Bitmoji tennis depends on your device-titling skills to usher you to victory. The game, which is available on Snap Games, allows you to train on your own, play against a friend or go up against a group of friends for a winner-stays-on tournament. You will also be able to keep track of your win count, best streak and longest rally through in-game stats.
These days it is difficult to separate most social media companies from making or trying to make money from ads—you are not far off because Bitmoji tennis won’t come without them. However, you will be rewarded with an upgrade of your tennis racket when you watch a short ad between games.
Snap released the long-awaited redesigned Snapchat app for Android in April. The essence of the remake was to build an app that is much faster, cleaner and much lighter. This became necessary to bring the app at per with the iOS version. You may not get all the information that you need the first few seconds of signing into the app, but there is no doubt that Snap has done some great job on the redesign.Snapchat
