The version 1.0 of Skype for Windows Phone has been released by Microsoft marking the end of its beta stage.
However, Skype for Windows Phone version 1.0 will not run on Windows Phone “Tango” devices, the Redmond, Washington-based software giant has revealed.
According to Microsoft, Skype for Windows phone 1.0 will not run on devices with less than 512MB of RAM.
In a post on the Skype Blog about the Skype for Windows Phone Gold Version, a known issue was listed as “device support” and described as “Your windows Phone requires a minimum of 512MB of memory to install and use skype.
Windows Phone “Tango” devices, however, only have 256MB in RAM.
This makes Windows Phone devices such as the Nokia Lumia 610 incompatible with Skype for Windows Phone.
Another issue with Skype for Windows Phone is that the app will not be able to receive calls if it is not in the foreground.
Those who want to download the Skype for Windows App can do so here or you can scan this QR code.
