Join The Heard has announced that SixString, the first social networking app for guitarists, now is a featured app in the Social Network category of the Apple iTunes Store.
Released on December last year, the iOS mobile application now comes with in-app video recording and sharing for guitarists to capture and share music, gear, and tones with the rapidly growing SixString community.
Guitarist Gary Hoey, a surfer-rock musician with 18 recorded albums and had five hits on Billboard’s Top 20 list, says SixString is an easy to use iPhone app for quick sound recording. He uses it to record and playback sounds from his vintage pedals, some of which are available on the app.
Specifically designed for guitar players, SixString provides a wide range of tools for all guitar-related activities in software form, adds Damian Hagger, cofounder of SixString. It helps amateur guitarists to learn and play how Eddie Van Halen reached his brown sound or how The Edge applies delay.
Hagger says the app promotes the work of professional guitarists by sharing sound clips, and it allows collectors to store and share vintage gear by uploading images or videos.
