Any business can use Instagram to either promote their business or grow their following. Although it’s not ideal for every business out there, it’s still a perfect option for your social media marketing strategy.

In this post, you’ll find some of the reasons you must consider Instagram as a necessity for your marketing campaign. After reading, you can finally determine whether or not it’s the right platform to help grow your business.

Owned by Facebook

In April 2012, Mark Zuckerberg bought Instagram for $1 billion. At that time, the app was still less than two years old. But Mark made the right decision.

Currently, the company is valued at $50 billion. Because of that, the app’s co-founder, Kevin Systrom, is now on the billionaire’s list. From $280 million, his net worth is up to $1.1 billion.

The majority of social media platforms are slowing down. Some of them disappeared. Twitter, for instance, suffers from stagnant growth.

But Instagram is different. As it’s owned by Facebook, it managed to grow its user base. And it continues to grow and makes a profit.

That said, it’s time for you to think about marketing your company on Instagram.

It’s not just trendy.

Although you can find trendy new platforms that you can use to market your brand, Instagram isn’t like that. It reaches 700 million users faster than other social media platforms. Thus, it’s easy to consider it as a force to be reckoned with.

What’s more is that the majority of brands are using it. So, it’s not just a platform that kids used to hang out and share photos. With its number of active users, it’s quickly becoming one of the biggest and most popular social media sites.

It’ll be here for a very long time.

It’s main company, Facebook, isn’t going anywhere. In fact, Facebook would be worth $1 trillion in a few years. It’s not like MySpace. It’s a part of the world’s culture. So, it won’t disappear anytime soon as it continues to innovate and evolve.

Because Facebook owns Instagram, you can expect this photo-sharing social media to be here for the long haul. That said, the effort you invested in it won’t go to waste. For that reason, consider Instagram marketing as part of your long-term strategy.

It can help in mobile e-commerce sales.

Analysts predicted that mobile eCommerce would reach $284 billion by 2020. More and more consumers are shopping through their mobile devices. And this trend will continue.

Since Instagram is a visual social media platform, it allows you to reach a worldwide audience. It has an attractive feature called advertising targeting. What’s great about is that it shares with Facebook. That said, you can easily reach your target audience the same way you can on Facebook.

Most brands are still using organic reach. But the platform is getting more competitive. With that in mind, marketers may need to follow the pay-to-play approach. If you wish to be competitive, you need to master the paid ads soon.

It won’t stop innovating.

Facebook is making a lot of money. It has two billion users. And Mark is looking into every possible way to improve all of his apps, including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger so that he can make more money.

Mark offered Snapchat $3 billion in cash just to sell the app to him. But, of course, Snapchat turned it down. Because of that, Mark started to adapt those attractive features that made Snapchat incredibly appealing. And he’ll continue to copy (or steal) Snapchat’s features.

Mark is winning in his game. In 2016, Snapchat lost $514 million. With Mark’s gameplay, we can expect that more and more users of Snapchat will migrate to Instagram. Thus, be ready for it.

It emphasizes on visual content.

Visual content is vital to a successful marketing plan. Twitter won’t make it easy for you to upload your photos. It cuts off the image if it wouldn’t fit the platform’s dimensions and ratios.

Instagram, on the other hand, offers an easy way to upload your photos and place text. The reason for this is that the platform is built for visual content. It’s also designed for engagement.

It’s less cluttered here.

This platform offers predictable format. That is, there’s no need for you to sort your feed to engage with visual content. Because of that straightforward and effortless way to engage with the audience, you can easily get more views and engagements that can translate into purchases or more likes.

Its user experience is excellent.

As mentioned earlier, the platform is simple and its’ made without the fluff. Because of that simplicity, more and more business owners are taking advantage of it. If you’re not yet on Instagram, it’s not too late for you to join the action.
