Samsung has just launched its 75-inch (189-cm) ES9000 OLED TV in South Korea with a whopping price of about $17,450.
This is Samsung’s flagship smart TV and will also be launched around the world as the South Korean tech giant hopes to dominate the premium TV market.
The Samsung ES9000 is framed by a thin bezel of 7.9mm coated in a finish the company calls “rose gold”.
The Samsung ES9000 features what the company calls a “Diamond Black Panel” which it claims improves the clearness, contrast and brightness of the display.
Being a smart TV, the Samsung ES9000 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor for all those smart TV applications.
Back in January, Samsung published this release touting the capabilities of the Samsung ES9000 OLED TV. It also showcased the display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Samsung said then that:
“Samsung’s ES9000 also represents the culmination of Samsung’s latest design and engineering technologies, and marks a new era of minimalistic design. Because Super OLED technology features self-emitting RGB sub-pixels which do not require a backlight, the TV weighs 30 percent less than a standard LED TV, and sports a sleek design thinner than 0.3 inches—one quarter of the thickness of a conventional LED TV.”
After its release in South Korea, the Samsung ES9000 should make its way to Europe first and then to North America.

This TV is not an OLED TV. Samsung said this is a LCD TV. You just wanted to believe that this was an OLED TV after seeing that price tag on it. Solon, you gotta fix it.
