In a sign that Samsung is doing right with its Galaxy line of smartphones, a report from a research firm says that the Samsung Galaxy line has snatched the title of the world’s most popular smartphone sub-brand.
According to Strategy Analytics in a new post on its blog, “Samsung’s Android-based Galaxy series overtook Apple’s iPhone as the world’s most popular smartphone sub-brand.”
Previously, Apple’s iPhone line was the most popular smartphone sub-brand in the world. This is despite the fact that more Android smartphones have traditionally been sold than iPhones.
Nonetheless, it should be noted that Android smartphones are made by numerous companies big and small.
The achievement for Samsung with its Galaxy sub-brand is important. According to Strategy Analytics: “In an increasingly brand-conscious smartphone market, Samsung and Apple are currently the clear leaders, and with their deep pockets enabling hard-to-match marketing spend, they represent a considerable challenge to the chasing pack.”
