Competition in the lucrative smartphone market is getting stiff, and the companies are coming up with new ideas and gadgets almost every day to lure specific groups of customers. Continuing this trend, latest addition to the stable of Samsung is Galaxy Note that was announced in September 2011. The gadget with huge 5.3-inch colorful Super AMOLED HD-display besides having a thin stylus is targeted at females, as the smartphone of this size can fit only in the female handbags when not in use. The gadget can well be categorized somewhere between a tablet and a smartphone.
Basic idea behind creating such a min-tablet cum smartphone according to the company is that Samsung Galaxy Note will minimize the need to switch to other devices while on the go. Good marketing idea!
By watching a recent video, which has been a hit on youtube, all that company is claiming seems to be true.
Last week Samsung UK Sales Director Andrew Glass while describing this Tablet Smartphone said that the Galaxy Note is really good for the female market. He said, “To have a handbag and be able to put a 5.37-inch phone in instead of a 10.1-inch tablet is something that I think will capture the female market.”
In regards to its release and price, British retailer Clove has announced that the device will be available for UK customers beginning November 17 at a price tag of £670.80i.e. $1055.12 (including VAT).
