The previous rumor that October 10 will be iPad Mini’s launch date was apparently false, but the latest rumors now point to another date: October 23.
All Things D reported that a press event will be held by Apple by Tuesday, October 23, revealing the iPad Mini. The blog’s source for the information is mentioned as “people familiar with Apple’s plans.”

Furthermore, it is possible that the press event will be held at the Cupertino campus of Apple, where the iPhone 5 was unveiled. However, there has been no announcement from Apple yet.
The October 10 speculated date first came from a Fortune report. The source said that Apple would give out invitations to the press for the unveiling of the iPad mini during that date. Philip Elmer-Dewitt, a reporter for Fortune, said:
“My source was a major Apple investor who had heard it from three different sources. They were wrong about the timing. I was wrong to pass the tip along. I don’t know what I was doing in the rumor business in the first place. Mea culpa.”
All Things D, on the other hand, has been quite a dependable source for rumors that have actually come into fruition. Some of the successful reports they have mentioned includes the September 12 unveiling of the iPhone 5.
