Pre-Order Opens For New Microsoft Surface Samsung SUR40

Microsoft is reporting that businesses (or people who have a ton of money lying around) can now pre-order the new Microsoft Surface computer, the Samsung SUR40.

The Samsung SUR40 is the next-generation Microsoft Surface computer and will replace the first Surface PC released in 2008.

According to Microsoft, the new Samsung SUR40 is now available for pre-order through Samsung retailers located in 23 countries around the world.

The 23 countries are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.

No detail was spared as to an exact release date yet but Microsoft does say that the Samsung SUR40 will be released early next year.

The Samsung SUR40 Surface computer features PixelSense, a Microsoft-developed technology for the touch-based Surface computer.

The new Surface has a 40-inch display which, thanks to PixelSense, can take up to 50 simultaneous touch points.

PixelSense also eliminated the use of cameras, which makes the Samsung SUR40 more svelte than its predecessor as its LCD panel can “see” without cameras.

Those who want to order the Samsung SUR40 Surface, however, would have to cough up $8,400 to pre-order from this Samsung site.
