Hong Kong-based multinational firm PocketBook International unveiled Sunday its new A10 Android tablet/e-reader, a successor to the company’s first LCD model IQ 701, at the IFA event in Berlin.
The PocketBook A10 touts a 10.1-inch TFT LCD display, 1024 × 768 pixels resolution and Google’s Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread out of the box.
Internal specs include a 1GHz TI OMAP 3621 single-core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB built-in storage memory with an SD Card slot supporting up to 64 GB, 2-megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi and optional 3G.
The A10 tablet measures weighs 244 x 207 x 15 mm and weighs 670 grams, with a 6600 mAh battery claimed to last for 6.5 hours.
Since PocketBook primarily builds e-reading devices, the A10 also comes with zoom, home, page turns, and several e-reader buttons.
While the device package already includes more than 1000 eBooks, users can still connect to Bookland.net to browse and download free open source eBooks.
The PocketBook A10 has a price tag less than €300 and will first come to Europe and Russia by October.
