Oscar: Discover the Highlights on Smartphone and Tablet

The Oscars will be awarded today in a magnificent event held in Los Angeles. If you do not know the difference between “The Artist” and “Hugo”, you can find information about the actors and the Oscar nominations using some complex applications for smartphones and tablets.

Awards Hero: Oscars Edition

The iPhone application offers an extensive collection of details on this year’s event, beginning with a short history of the Oscar winners over time, from 1929, complete lists of this year’s nominations, for categories of actors and movies and trailers of the movies with real chances of winning the Oscar as well.

Awards Hero also features integration with social networks, where users can vote for the movies they think will win tonight and compare the favorites with those nominated by friends.

The application is available in App Store, free of charge for a limited period.

The 2012 Oscars News and Clips

The free application for Android phones and tablets comes with the latest news about this year’s Oscar awards, the official Twitter feed of the Academy and also trailers of the nominated movies such as “War Horse”, “The Descendants” and “The Help”.

Other similar applications – for Android: Oscar 2012 or Live From the Red Carpet, while for iOS is also available the Meet the Oscars application.
