Nokia has promised to release two software updates to fix Lumia 800 battery life problems plaguing the device since day one.
The Finnish phone maker’s Nokia Lumia 800 handset is its first and flagship device on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 Mango platform and has appeared on shelves for a little over one week already.
Several customers and owners, however, disputed that they have experienced or heard of power efficiency issues that seemed to drain its battery life faster, whereas majority of Lumia 800 users did not encounter similar problems.
According to Nokia, the first software update is set to arrive on December, followed by another on January of next year.
“We understand that some people have expressed concerns about battery life on the Nokia Lumia 800. Early investigations show that the majority of people are enjoying the full Nokia Lumia experience without any problems. A software update in early December will include improvements to power efficiency, while a second update in early January introduces further enhancements to battery life and battery charging,” Nokia said in a post on its support forum.
Glitches of this sort, or of any kind, are not beneficial to Nokia’s new run of taking back lost market share from its rivals.
