Nokia raised the standards even since the first day of the 2012 Mobile World Congress with the launch of the new smartphone Nokia 808 PureView that features a camera with a 41-megapixel sensor. The smartphone that runs Nokia Belle OS is thus revolutionizing the portable camera.
Nokia 808 PureView debuts with a camera that is without doubt one of the most impressive on the smartphone market. If we think that the standard for a next generation camera for smartphones is 8 megapixels, the figure of 41 megapixels is at least extraordinary. The lens powered by Carl Zeiss is able to capture photos in two different and unique ways.
First of all, the user can shoot a normal-sized photo. Then, using the zoom function, user can cut the portion he wants without losing quality.
Besides this imaging mode, the user can take pictures at a maximum resolution of 38 megapixels. The camera can also shoot in full HD resolution of 1080p.
The list of the device’s characteristics includes a 4-inch AMOLED ClearBlack screen, a 1.3 GHz processor, internal storage capacity of 16GB and a MicroSD slot. Nokia 808 PureView will run the operating system Nokia Belle and will cost around EUR 450 ($ 600).
