If you can’t wait until March for the official release then you and pre-order your own Nintendo Switch if you are close by the New York’s Nintendo store
Today Nintendo will introduce its newest gaming console, Nintendo Switch. After many months of waiting the company will unveil the console and many fans can’t hide their anticipation. But, if you can’t wait for the official arrival in March you can pre-order it – if you are lucky.
The news were announced through Nintendo’s official store in New York and stated that a “limited quantity” of pre-orders will be available on Friday, January 13th at 9AM ET at the Nintendo World NY store.
Now, taking under consideration that Nintendo consoles are really hard to find – see the NES Classic example – then it is only logical that the company tries to make things a little more easier for the buyers.
But, what do we know so far for Nintendo Switch? According to a trailer the console it is essentially a tablet with detachable controllers that can be connected to a TV set. That means that you can play game inside your house and on the road. Now, this super cool!
But who can we use the controllers, what games are we going to play and is Nintendo Switch powerful enough. First of all, the controllers, the Joy-Cons, can be used either as one unit or on their own. Also can be attached to the tablet.
Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima said about the Joy-Cons:
“It may be appropriate to call them accessories,” “Or it might be better to call them add-on hardware. It’s probably more correct to call them accessories. You can assume that there will be a wider array.”
So, now let’s talk about power. Inside the device we find a custom Tegra processor from Nvidia. But, many suspect that the console will not be as powerful as PlayStation and Xbox counterparts. Now, the screen of the tablet will feature a 6.2-inch 720p display that supports multitouch.
As for the price we have to wait after the official announcement. According to rumours it will cost from $250. All we know is that the console will be available in March.
Of course after today’s announcements we will have more information about the release, the specs and of course the price. If you want to see the event you can tune into Ninteno’s Twitch or YouTube channels, or visit the company’s official website.
