Apple iPhone 5 is going to be one of the slimmest smart phones ever made, with just 7.6 mm thickness, slimmer that the HTC One S and the Samsung Galaxy S3.
This information was published on the Taiwanese newspaper Apple Daily one month before the scheduled introduction of the device in September.
According to the Apple Daily news article, the exact dimensions of the iPhone 5 are 58.47 mm x 123.83 mm x 7.6 mm, which is nearly as slim as the newest iPod Touch units and is 1 mm thinner that the Samsung Galaxy S3. The iPhone 5 would also be exactly 1.7 mm slimmer than its latest predecessor, the iPhone 4s.
The thin size also equates to a smaller battery, which may be a concern to iPhone users who clamor for a longer battery life. Some alleged tweaks to be added to the iPhone 5 include, Global LTE-support, NFC, a quad core processor and the new iOs 6 platform.
None of the rumors, even the slimmer dimensions, swifter CPUs, and larger displays have yet been confirmed. That will have to wait until the official launch this September. The latest hearsay is that the launch would be in the 12th of September, and to be available in the market by October.
