Motorola has officially confirmed that its Xoom tablets will be getting the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This information can’t be called a speculation, as it came directly from a reliable source of the manufacturer, rather than from some vague rumors.
Matt, a moderator on the Motorola support forum, says “I don’t know anything about if it will be first or not — have no insight into how other manufacturers do updates — but Xoom will get ICS. I just don’t have any timing to share. “
Given that Motorola has become a part of Google and original Xoom is a standard Honeycomb-tablet (something like Nexus in the world of smart phones), Android 4.0 ICS can well be expected to appear on the device in the coming weeks. Let’s wait and watch if Xoom is indeed going to be the first tablet based on Ice Cream Sandwich.
