Motorola Announces an Android Cloud Computer on the Chinese Market

on

Motorola just released in China a very interesting product and it goes by the name CloudBB (HMC3260). This terminal is basically a PC with an 18.5 inch touch screen and Android operating system, and comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Basically this is an oversized tablet intended to replace the PC.

China Digital TV Media Group will be responsible for this product’s marketing strategy, promoting it to the 13 million customers of its video on demand service, but also as a device for games, applications and other cloud services.

It is very likely that this product will remain only in China, but it’s interesting to see what Motorola has planned internationally. Motorola tried their luck once the Atrix phone, which through lapdock became a laptop or PC and it also could connect to a TV. Unfortunately that product has not caught on.

Returning to this newcomer, Motorola CloudBB incorporates a 18-inch touch screen, a touch LCD with 1366 x 768 pixels, a 1 GHz Freescale CPU (i.MX53 ARM Cortex A8), 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal memory Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread an its main operating system. The terminal comes with a custom desktop launcher and unfortunately we don’t have a price for this product, but it is supposed to be quite affordable, especially since it is a product for the Chinese market.
